The American funk band got their start in Long Beach, California in the early ‘60s during a time of mass violence. It didn’t take them long to release catchy songs that made people smile and remember the good times. They released hit songs like “Low Rider,” “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” and “Spill the Wine.” Although their name is War, their songs preach a message of peace and love. They mix together a bunch of different genres of music like soul, Latin jazz, blues, reggae and rock to create a sound that can’t be duplicated. Their unique music and sound put them in the Grammy Hall of Fame and cemented their place in music history.
