If George Washington was riding a bald eagle through the Appalachian Mountains on a mid-summer day in the ‘60s, he would be listening to Jay and the Americans. That is about as American as it gets, folks.
These guys were the original boys next door and we’re pretty sure N’SYNC got most of their inspiration from these heart throbs. They weren’t afraid to be in tune with their emotions and that’s about as sexy as it gets when appealing to teeny boppers everywhere. They’re basically The American Dream.
They lived in New York City working full-time jobs to pay the bills, but practiced through the night to turn their craft into a masterpiece. They graduated from their parent’s garage to the main stage and boy did they make an entrance. Soon as the crowd heard “Cara Maria,” they went bonkers. But they weren’t one of those one-hit-wonders you see frequently. They also had singles like “She Cried,” “Walkin’ in the Rain” and “Only in America.”
